days ago, the 1,000 t/y nitrogen trifluoride (nf3) project, a joint venture between liming research institute of chemical industry and south korea-based daesung industrial gases co., ltd., was completed with the designed capacity. plus the original 200 t/y pilot facility, it makes liming institute china's second biggest nf3 producer.
located in the petrochemical industry cluster zone in jili district, luoyang, this project is a key project for henan province and luoyang city. with the actual investment of rmb 260 million, it occupies a land of 35,800 square meters and is equipped with the crude nf3 electrolysis workshop, the automated continuous filling & cleaning workshop and auxiliary facilities.
it's the first chinese-foreign nf3 project in china and adopts the latest electrolysis technology developed by liming institute to produce nf3, which features sound continuity, controllable production cost, stable product quality, safety, reliability and less impurities, compared with the chemical technology, with world advanced performance in key product indicators. on top of that, it introduces the advanced electronic gas filling system and testing equipment from south korea.
it's believed by business insiders to be an important achievement of china's r&d of electronic gases and domestic production and commercialization of research results, capable of meeting the development needs at home and abroad in related fields, and thus of strategic importance for safeguarding national economy and enhancing overall national strength.
the project is now running at full capacity and has reached cooperation intent with famous semiconductor and lcd panel producers such as boe, china star optoelectronics technology, panda electronics, lg, samsung, hanergy, texas instruments, inotera memories, and innolux, and completed tests, plant inspection and bulk delivery, winning praises from clients.
liming institute is a key unit for fluoride r&d and has been studying the nf3 technology since 1996, producing world advanced nf3 technology and products. daesung industrial gases is a comprehensive gas supplier in south korea and owns a mature, sound distribution network supplying products to lg, samsung and hyundai, etc. this project draws on the technological and marketing advantages of the two, speeds up liming institute's shift from producing fluorine industrial gases to producing fluorine electronic special gases and will become a pillar industry for it in the next five years.
